Just the two of us, watching the sun go down over the sea and then all the cities fireworks at once from the hills. A blissful New Years Eve.

Homegrown bouquet

This week's homegrown bouquet, just queen annes lace - and me practicing to make a proper bridal shaped bouquet, with jute wrap and everything! Note to self - strip all excess leaves before wrapping with thin string!

In Pictures...

Light, G&T's, Thank You's and a precious treasure found in the front garden - Blue fairy wren eggs in a stunning nest! Today over our morning coffee on the porch we watched muma and papa blue wren watch over it.

Garden Update Spring

Our house is looking particularly sweet in it's spring glory at the moment.
The sweet peas are going absolutely nuts, they smell amazing and are a riot of pink purple and white.
Cucumbers and pumpkins coming up.
Bee's checking out the flowering onion heads.
Last of the anemones in the side garden.
The standard iceburgs out the front are blooming.
The white flowers of the front garden are just amazing - filling the beds to the brim - just the look I love (we've got seaside daisy, white ranunculus and dusty miller in shot here).
The porch has had a spring clean. Tim re-oiled the deck, we rearranged all the succulents and I finally got around to doing up that white cane chair - I'll show you a close up soon.

These are really September Spring pictures - more has happened - I just need to photograph it!

Long Weekend

The long weekend. These are from out at a friends farm. Gotta love the NSW countryside in spring and having visitors to feed.

Saturday, September 21

switch off, relax, escape.

Last weekend we went camping to switch off, relax and escape, as well as road test Tim's birthday presents (tent & camp stove). We did just that. It was perfect and Lola did very well too!

Catch up...

T: Well thats what its like running for public office.
S: You wake up one Sunday morning with no idea where the last three months went, a hangover and a new prime minister. The only thing is to decide what's worse: the hangover or the new PM.

Phew, it's been madness. I've been earthing down, as a friend of ours said, and its been keeping me sane. Spring is just being ridiculously good looking.

I got a pang of oh my god this is my house I live here this is mine, the other night. It was nice to have that feeling about our space again instead of just existing in a whirlwind of things that must get done.

I'm running again, getting up early and run run run. I feel better already and it is so pretty.

Photos are mostly being taken on my phone - spending all day at work on a computer means I dont want to be on one when I get home. But I don't want to abandon this place just yet.

I have recipes to share and more gardening stuff and good things happen all the time, I need to remember its nice to write them down - to remember. It's also nice to simplify.
