switch off, relax, escape.

Last weekend we went camping to switch off, relax and escape, as well as road test Tim's birthday presents (tent & camp stove). We did just that. It was perfect and Lola did very well too!

Puppy Love, Episode 9*

That dawg of ours. She got style and class I tells ya and she loves her new coat (especially because she sleeps outside)! If you are gonna put your pet in clothes you may as well do it properly, collar, fake pockets and all.

Puppy Love Episode 8*

It with a heavy heart this puppy Love is written. I have introduced you to the marvellous Ollie before. Lola's play mate, my mumma's darling, bouncy, silly, affectionate boy. He was killed this week by eating an animal which had been killed with fox poison - 1080. He was only 2 years old and my mum and the whole family are heartbroken. These amazing creatures are truley family members but also in our charge and care so to have them taken away in such a violent way just seems unfair. There have been many tears and cuddles with the other puppies this week. A collection of the very photogenic boy:

Puppy Love Episode 7*

When we were getting excited to meet our puppy we bought the essentials, a leash, collar, food and water bowls, poop bags. And because we were first time puppy owners we bought a couple of toys.
Lola, mysterious puppy that she is couldn't give a damn about toys. And those *proper dog toys* are expensive. So we let her play with everyday things - and it turns out - there is nothing this dog likes more than a bucket. HOURS of entertainment.

Puppy Love Episode 6* (Shake it out)

Spring = spring cleaning = doggy spring cleaning. And boy did she need a bath. Pity she hates it so much.

Lola: Noble dog of the setting sun. (Puppy Love ep.5)

Or Puppy Love Episode 6: The sunsets are so dramatic here. Just recently on a walk Lola sat herself down and contemplated the setting sun. She's a wise and thoughtful beast. When she's not being a lunatic.

Puppy Love, Episode 4*

Lola thought she would give the limelight over to the Labrador this week. He's a pretty relaxed kinda guy to shoot...
As for Lola... she can sometimes be a bit intense. This stare is how she ends up by the fire every night.

Puppy Love, Episode 3.

Lola doesn't like to be bathed. Unfortunately for her she needs to be bathed fairly frequently because she loves to wrestle Ollie in dirt, mud and horse poo and roll in dead fish (huge amounts of dead fish on the side of the roads post flood) and conversely we like to cuddle her and have her keep our feet warm while we watch telly. ala she gets washed. Anyway here we have captured the post wash roll for your puppy love...

Edit: Doh, uploaded wrong video! Fixed now!

Puppy Love, episode 2*

Another of Lola's loves is riding in the back of the ute. I know - one minute you thought you were reading the blog of a flat white sipping, city living trendy and all of a sudden it's all jam making, ute driving, veggie growing. What can I say. I adapt fast. And I even have another video for ya.

Puppy Love, episode 1.

Well, I wasn't planning on overloading you with puppy pictures, but seeing as you all seem to be crushing on my doggy as much as I do... I thought I'd give you some puppy love... of course, she's an endless source of entertainment so lets assume there will be some installments.
Lola is a mongrel mixed breed, she is under a year old and her ears go in different directions sometimes. It's very cute. She loves to sniff, run, cuddle, wrestle and sleep. Apart from us and disgusting dead bits of animal she finds on the side of the road, her greatest love is my mothers chocolate labrador Ollie.
For all his serious looks, Ollie is very playful. He likes to wrestle Lola, eat, chew expensive things (like my mums glasses, my dads brand new car seat belt), eat, be cute and snuggely, eat and sit on things that are too small for him, as demonstrated in the last picture. Ollie farts like a sailor and is the only dog I've ever seen fully belch after eating his dinner. It's quite something. They make a cute pair don't you think?
