On the fly...

You ever have that thing where you feel like you have so much on the boil that you are constantly sure you have forgotten something very important? That's me right now. I'm working a lot of hours and I have a fair few things coming up and I'm sure I've missed something... I'm blogging on the fly, on the day - not my usual style. And holy crap its June tomorrow?!
In better news we are hoping building will start soon - we have our kitchen being designed and a builder lined up. More excuses to look at inspiration...

Puppy Love, Episode 4*

Lola thought she would give the limelight over to the Labrador this week. He's a pretty relaxed kinda guy to shoot...
As for Lola... she can sometimes be a bit intense. This stare is how she ends up by the fire every night.

Vege Patch Before & After

Pictures from February after we had just moved in. Way too much grass, not enough veg!

Things to Be Thankful for*

* That I have work.
* How beautiful frost is. (No need to mention how fricken cold it is here though - oh...whoops...)
* Our friend is doing an amazing job designing our kitchen for us - such a relief not to have to work it out!
* The amazing parcels of wrapping paper and seeds (things we lost in the flood) we keep on getting!
* All the lovely feedback we got from out time in the Northern Territory.
* Oranges on our orange trees!
* The smell of wood fires in the cold air.
* All the signs of builders in the neighborhood. People are preparing to come back!
* My duffel coat, hand knitted scarf, thick bamboo socks, and panda hat. Toasty.

Gifts

We  just had a little anniversary celebration this year. I received this incredibly wrapped incredibly cute teapot and Tim received the number 5 (to go with last years). And we had dinner out at our favorite Sydney restaurant. What with anniversary number 5 being wood - we plan on spending some money on trees for our garden too.
Also tim bought me a panda hat - as my childhood panda was recently errr.... taken by our furry baby Lola and thoroughly... loved.

Wishlisting*

So, it's all about the wish list for now as we are saving to rebuild our house, plant a garden, ohhh and there's the small issue of me putting a weeeeee ding in someone's car. Oops.
Oh plus it's my birthday soon so a girl can day dream right...
A ring by this lady, especially this one.
I Love this bear.
Some Tunes.
Two cherry tree's. {image}
Something good to read - I've been only reading magazines lately, I need me a novel (or more magazines!). {image}
A bundt baking tin. {image}
And of course a bunch of flowers never goes astray.

In conversation*

Tim: Shall we turn on the heater.
Me: Nah it's not that cold.
Tim: Are you serious? Your feet are like Golden Gaytimes.

Delicious I say!

Desert Diary 2,

Some pictures! I've been struggling to find words to describe this place. It's not my idea of beauty but it is magnificent. The ranges look as if they have been sculpted by children with play-dough. Some of them look like dinosaurs - they are certainly just as old. We managed to squeeze in a a visit to Simpsons Gap and Standley's Chasm. But then the drive to where we are staying is glorious too. On the first night the moon looked like this. Now it doesn't come up until 3am. Oh and the sunsets. Golden. Clearly.

Puppy Love, Episode 3.

Lola doesn't like to be bathed. Unfortunately for her she needs to be bathed fairly frequently because she loves to wrestle Ollie in dirt, mud and horse poo and roll in dead fish (huge amounts of dead fish on the side of the roads post flood) and conversely we like to cuddle her and have her keep our feet warm while we watch telly. ala she gets washed. Anyway here we have captured the post wash roll for your puppy love...

Edit: Doh, uploaded wrong video! Fixed now!

Desert Diary,

 Day one: We pulled off a truck and put together 42 pieces of staging. And built a 7 metre by 12 metre truss arch. I hit myself in the face with a spanner. It hurt. No beer.
Day two: We hung lights off the truss arch and adjusted the stage. Hung lights of an 8 metre high scaff tower that a scaff dude came and built. I got sun burnt in my cleavage. Who knew the sun was such a perve?! No beer.
Day three: Tim spent all day under the stage making it level. I built four 6 metre high truss booms and hung lights off them and ran cable to all of the lights. We all built a 4.5 metre wall. Tim drilled a hole in his thumb nail. No beer.

Yeah right the theatre life is glamorous! Ha! But it's crazy hot out here and it's fun working together and seeing the sun rise each morning and going to bed at 9pm. Hermmansburg, or Ntaria, is a dry zone - hence the no beer thing. Which is fine, but really after a full day in the sun of this kind of work, a nice cold one would really go down a treat.
I have more pretty pictures but the cable is not letting the lappy and camera talk to each other - so it may have to wait! These are from Tim's phone.

Puppy Love, episode 2*

Another of Lola's loves is riding in the back of the ute. I know - one minute you thought you were reading the blog of a flat white sipping, city living trendy and all of a sudden it's all jam making, ute driving, veggie growing. What can I say. I adapt fast. And I even have another video for ya.

Adventuring...

I know, I know, we just got into the swing of things over here again... but I've got work in the desert!! Both Tim and I are heading to Alice Springs, then 2 hours west from there to put on a show! It's quite the adventure, the middle of our huge country, campervan for accommodation, hot days, cold nights. We will have a bit of internet so I'll post pictures when I can!

Pictures are of the amazing apples we bought in Batlow on our way back from our little getaway - taken at my parents house.

Things to be Thankful For*

I am thankful because five years ago today we married under the first opening of blue sky we had seen all week. Under the gum trees by the river all our friends and family who had trekked to the country watched us say yes I will. I am thankful to have people tell us our wedding and our marriage inspires them. You know what I think the secret is? We're best friends, and we try to always, always be kind to each other. I am so thankful for my Tim, my husband, my love.

My darling boy: I sometimes feel surprised that I didn't know you once. I love how you make me laugh, I love how I know where your keys are when you don't, I love how you know exactly what I'm feeling without me having to say a word, I love that you play, I love your eyes that change colour and I love this adventure we are on. Thank you.

Compact Disc...

Pre-flood, I sorted out all our CDs to be stored in our vintage suitcase stack. How long until CDs are considered vintage too I wonder?! Alphabetised they fit perfectly from Air to Wilco.
P ended up having the largest amount of band names, closely followed by B and S...
