anniversary party

A few photos from my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary celebrations we had just before christmas! I could go on and on about how inspiring it is, the impressive time span speaks mountains of their beautiful love for each other. Tim and I have 57.5 to go!

Kent: a trip to Hastings and a walk in the woods

We popped to Hastings for a day to visit Dan and Pete. Then another day took a walk into the woods. That's me and my "baby" brother, who is here too.

I told you it would snow for me!!!!

Kent in the snow! Our Australian brains have exploded with chilly happiness! I told Tim that we WOULD have a white Christmas (even though it pretty much never happens) I was determined and snow prevailed... a smidgen early for Christmas I have to admit but it was the next best thing.

Brighton in the snow

Snowy, magical Brighton! Amazing to see a beach covered in a thick white blanket, and then a sunset so dramatic over the sea. We wandered along the pier but none of the rides were going, so we drank hot chocolate, and went to the movies to get warm (Avatar is a pretty fun film fyi)... I got a wonderful sense of being on holiday in this town: mittened hands held, wandering quaint lane ways, just us, not knowing anyone.

Bournemouth

Visited Corfe castle and snowflakes fell. Had a huge ploughmans lunch at a cosy pub with a fire. Walked along the coast line, enjoying an incredible sunset and jumped over the sun on the Shell Bay beach. (see the earlier B/mouth post!)

Bath

Bath, Bath abbey, Roman baths, inside bath abbey x 2.
A lovely day was had in Bath, and we saw cousins Rebekah and Flo for dinner and drinks.
Visiting the Romans baths was our first touristy thing that we actually paid for and it was totally worth it! Timmy had his brain blown by how OLD stuff was! Then we had our ears talked off by this little old lady in the abbey!
